Amended Tax Return Updates

(5/29/20) If you were instructed by the Taxpayer Advocate Service to write “ICT/IVO” on the top of your IRS Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, and mail it to the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA, please be aware that this location is now accepting mail. If you already sent it, but it was returned, you may now mail it again. If you did not mail it yet, you may do so now, but only if you were previously instructed to do so by your TAS Case Advocate. Be aware that due to continued closures of other IRS functions at this location, the processing of this form will be delayed.  Please check back here for future updates on this location.

If you do not currently have a case with us, but have an unresolved tax issue that is causing an economic hardship, please contact your local Taxpayer Advocate Service office.
