Incorrect 1095-A Forms and the Premium Tax Credit

If you may have gotten an incorrect Form 1095-A (your Health Insurance Marketplace Statement), the IRS has new resources for you.

The IRS has just posted information to help you determine exactly what you need to do on this new Questions and Answers - Incorrect Forms 1095-A and the Premium Tax Credit page. It addresses common issues including:

  • How will I know if my Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement, is wrong or delayed?
  • Do I need to file an amended return?
  • What relief did the IRS announce in March for people who received incorrect forms?
  • What additional relief is coming?

The webpage provides specific answers for individuals who have filed their 2014 income tax returns as well as for  those who haven’t filed yet.
