Free help for families to get Advance Child Tax Credit Payments and Economic Impact Payments

These events have now been completed. No more events will be scheduled for this year.

The IRS, Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), Low Income Tax Clinic (LITC) personnel and community partners are teaming up to provide free tax help events for families to get advance Child Tax Credit payments and Economic Impact Payments in June and July at twelve locations. The events are designed to help eligible families, particularly those who normally do not file a federal tax return, file a 2020 income tax return using the new Non-filer Sign-up Tool.

These June 25-26 and July 9-10, events are being held in Atlanta; New York; Detroit; Houston; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Miami; Milwaukee; Philadelphia; Phoenix; St. Louis; and Washington DC.

By using the new Non-filer Sign-up Tool, to help people quickly file income tax returns, if they are not normally required to file one, also helps eligible people:

Individuals do not need to have children in order to attend these events and sign up for Economic Impact Payments.
